ABSTRACT
J ust as there is no such thing as a typical magazine, so there is no single way towrite for magazines. What is an appropriate style will depend on the purpose ofthe magazine and who its readers are. To a more limited extent this applies on newspapers and accounts for the differences between, say, a lead news story in The Independent and the way the same story might be written for The Sun.
