ABSTRACT

Then there is the set-piece interview whose purpose is to present the reader with an account of the personality of a celebrity or at least of one encounter with that celebrity. Interview features of this sort are also written about those who are not famous and often the journalist will get much more time with such a person than with someone who is in the public eye. Everyone has their own tastes, but for me too much space is allocated in magazines for predictable chats with celebrities and too little for interviews with ordinary people.
