ABSTRACT

The Italian juvenile justice system claims to use a Restorative Justice approach, but this is seen in a system that for most of its characteristics is a rehabilitative one. The legislation does not give much space to victims, who are often used only as pieces of evidence. We will now analyse the current legal point of view, and some of the ongoing experiences in terms of what is claimed to be a Restorative Justice approach. A new prospectus project promoted by the Department of juvenile justice will also be presented.
