ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION ON 6 February 1594 'a Noble Roman Historye of Tytus Andronicus' was entered in the Stationers' Register to John Danter along with a ballad on the same subject. The play was printed in the same year (Ql). A second Quarto, printed in 1600 by James Roberts for Edward White, corrected the text somewhat. A third Quarto was printed for Edward White in 1611, and the first Folio text was set up from this, with the addition of some stage directions, the whole of Act III, Scene 2 (in which Titus expatiates on his grief and anger) and two other lines.
