ABSTRACT
In connection with the proofs about God, Descartes introduces a variety of metaphysical terms and concepts that later serve as foundations for his physics (discussed in Chapter 9). The present chapter focuses on the methodological extraction of a rule for recognizing truth, the relation of the rule to the natural light, and the use of the natural light in the proofs for the existence of God.
