Interpersonal Attraction and Verbal Behavior in the Initial Interview

The studies reported in this chapter are part of a larger research program, the major purpose of which is to identify the factors that facilitate communication within the initial interview. To prevent misunderstanding, it should be stated at the outset that we are primarily concerned with the information-gathering type of interview, the kind of interview that frequently precedes therapeutically oriented interviews.
