ABSTRACT
Map 11.1 shows total attendances at morning, afternoon, and evening worship on Sunday, 30 March 1851 in each county, expressed as a percentage of total population and calculated from data in the Census of Great Britain, 1851: Religious Worship, England and Wales, BPP 1852-3, LXXXIX, and Religious Worship and Education (Scotland): Report and Tables, BPP 1854, LIX, p. 301. Map 11.2 shows estimates of the attendances (all services) on an average Sunday in England in November 1979, in Wales in May 1982 and in Scotland in March 1984, in each county and metropolitan authority for England and Wales, and in each region or sub-region for Scotland, expressed as a percentage of adult population.
