ABSTRACT

Jordan is a small country with meagre resources and high rate of growth of population (4.8 per cent in 1980, Zaghal 1983). The problem of economic development of Jordan was further aggravated following the forcible immigration of the Palestinians into Jordan as a result of the Israeli occupation of Palestine in 1948 and the West Bank in 1967. Historically, foreign aid has played a vital role in the economic development of many developed and developing countries and Jordan is no exception.
