ABSTRACT
These remarks arose from reading the bitter but greatly needed article by Professor Jan Blonski, The Poor Poles look at the Ghetto’ [chapter 2]. The subject of Polish-Jewish relations-and this is something of which the great majority of the Poles who never go abroad for other reasons than to buy a sheepskin coat in Istanbul are totally unaware-defines to an enormous extent Poland’s image in the eyes of Western, particularly Anglo-Saxon, public opinion. As a historian, I have taken an interest in these matters for years and it is a bitter, very bitter, subject.
