ABSTRACT

In spite of the passing time, the Polish-Jewish issue, wherever it appears, creates in us Poles, particularly in those of us who witnessed the extermination of the Jews, a peculiar state of aggressiveness mixed with apprehension. This proves just how deeply that something described in Jan Blonski’s article [chapter 2], a subconscious secret feeling of guilt about what had happened to the Jewish people on our land, is ingrained in us. Blonski talks explicitly about guilt by neglect.
