ABSTRACT
The concept of incorporating fibres of Cellulose origin in building composites is very old, it dates back to the old Egyptian civilization.
Current interest in the application of the technology to cement composites stems mainly from the acute shortage of housing and high cost of building materials in the less technologically advanced countries. The use of indigenous knowhow and resources in manufacturing building products with low energy demand is the most adequate alternative.
