ABSTRACT
Seeing and representing are ‘material,’ insofar as they constitute means of intervening in the world. We do not simply ‘see’ what is there before us. Rather, the specific ways in which we see (and represent) the world determine how we act upon that world and, in so doing, create what that world is.
