ABSTRACT

Information and communication technology (ICT) is profoundly changing the way society operates (Floridi, 2007). Research on human computer-based interaction shows that computer technology’s effects on the human psyche significantly shape both our interactions with each other and our perceptions of the world. Everyone has their own special little corner in cyberspace that allows them to share information, collaborate, discuss common interests and build relationships. Extracting meaning from the way people interact on the Web and trying to make sense of a world unimaginable a few years ago is the focus of the developing field of cyberpsychology (Barak & Suler, 2008).
