ABSTRACT

The history of TABS is the story of the remarkable success of a group of postpartum posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) survivors. They supported others affected by the condition, and encouraged the health sector in New Zealand and elsewhere to minimize the occurrence of this condition, if possible, and reduce the suffering of women affected by it. As a result, many other women were helped, and their suffering better understood and treated. In the 13 years that TABS was active, it substantially achieved that purpose. TABS has stepped back, but its achievements remain.
