ABSTRACT

Grace hurriedly glanced at her watch as she power walked down the long walk-way to the entrance of Bavarian View. It was 8:06 a.m. and she was running late for the daily morning meeting with the department directors. She knew that the interim director, Naomi, would be fine with her arriving late because Grace had called ahead and asked what coffee she wanted from the local drive-thru. She also knew that Naomi was only temporary during the search for the supported living facility’s new executive director. After almost a year of Naomi’s presence, however, Grace had discovered the proper actions to take with her. Naomi played by the book when it came to every action that dealt with residents. Grace and the rest of the staff at Bavarian View understood that communicating with the approximately 120 residents and handling all situations with compassion was the number one priority.
