ABSTRACT
This paper is about research carried out from 2004 to 2006. I will discuss the documentary film I conceived and scripted about the Oḍissī dance of Guru Surendranāth Jena, and will focus in some detail on the relationship that one of his compositions, Śakti Rūpa Yoginī, composed by Guru Jena in the 1970s, has with the Hirapur temple. The documentary is on a DVD accompanied by short clips, without commentary, of the dance performances discussed in the film. One of these shows the Śakti Rūpa Yoginī at Hirapur in 2005.
