ABSTRACT

I should start right away by defining contemporary dance: what a company that calls itself “contemporary” represents; what a contemporary dance school offers; what knowledge a person has after graduating from the first and only Hungarian contemporary dance academy (the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy); how ballet seeks connections with the contemporary body image (or how it does not); and how contemporary dancers see the body as their art’s primary instrument. But first, I would like to tell you about something else instead.
