ABSTRACT

The dangers of praise are that it can produce a person who

is egocentric, conceited;

is angry, distrustful and who has set such high standards that praise sounds insincere and he/she then thinks you cannot be very smart;

is dependent on expressed approval and appreciation to feel O.K.;

equates love with approval;

sees life as unfair if he/she is not praised for what he/she does; and/or

does not feel he/she should have to perform if there is no praise.
