ABSTRACT

What happened when you did your school practice activity for Week 7 where you used a consequence to correct a student’s misbehavior? Use your notes page and describe how it went from the misbehavior to the student’s reaction to the consequence. How did you feel doing it? How would you evaluate the result? What can you do in addition to using a consequence? (Encouragement in all its forms, class discussions, Encouragement Council, entrusting the student with a school responsibility, etc.) An excellent listing of possible school responsibilities by grade level can be found in Teacher Study Group Leader’s Manual (1975) by authors Asselin, Nelson, and Platt, and can be ordered from the Alfred Adler Institute of Chicago, 110 Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL 60603. The Institute also carries a number of other books listed in the bibliography of your textbook.
