ABSTRACT

Arlene Metha received her SA degree from Arizona State University. MA degree from Ohio State University. and Ph.D. from the University of Southern California She is currently an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology in the Division of Psychology in Education at Arizona State University. Her major research has focused on adolescent suicide. in particular the gifted adolescent. During the past two years she has been studying stress. life changes. and suicide ideation among gifted adolescents. More recently. Dr. Metha (with others) was the recipient of a major endowment to study the relationship between substance abuse and suicide among teens.
