ABSTRACT

Beverly Celotta is a licensed psychologist with over twenty years of experience in the mental health and educational fields. She received her BA in psychology from Queens Collge. her M.S. and Advanced Certificate in school psychology from Brooklyn College and her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado. Before becoming president of Celotta. Jacobs & Keys Associates. Inc .. a program development firm. she served as a faculty member and assistant chairperson of the Counseling and Personnel Services Department at the University of Maryland. She also had served as a school psychologist and an educational research and evaluation specialist. Dr. Celotta has authored or co-authored over thirty articles. chapters. and manuals in the area of the application of systems theory to mental health program development. She is currently on the editorial board of Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development. Recently she has assisted numerous counties and the State of Maryland in developing youth suicide prevention programs. She is a national trainer for the American Association for Counseling and Development and recently served as an expert witness on their behalf for a United States House Subcommittee conducting hearings on HR 457. a suicide prevention bill.
