ABSTRACT
The latencies o f the P I 00, N 200, and N350 w ere earlier (by 10 to 25 m s) for the 20-m onth-olds than for the 13-to 17-m onth-olds (Tables 10 and 11). The P I 00 show ed the age differences in la tencies for com prehended, unknow n, and backw ard w ords. In contrast, the N 200 show ed latency d ifferences only for the com prehended w ords. The N 350 latencies, and duration o f the N 6 0 0-900 , show ed age differences for the com prehended and unknow n w ords but not for the backw ard words.
