ABSTRACT
Among the most important aspects of dime novel research is the study of format. It is also one of the aspects that is little discussed except in broad, general terms. The physical appearance of an individual dime novel says much about the marketing strategy of its publisher. Part of an on-going series, each individual dime novel had to say to the browser at the newsstand in its day-"buy me!"
