ABSTRACT
The news about climate change is continuously alarming, and in some sense it seems absolutely absurd. Are we really talking about adapting to global temperature increases of over 4°C in this century? Will we really need to adapt to sea-level rise of one to several meters in the coming centuries? Are we really changing the frequency and magnitude of heat waves, droughts, and heavy rainfalls? Are we really facing dangerous tipping points that have implications for the future of humanity? It sounds very much like the script for a Hollywood action movie, and indeed such movies have already been made.
