ABSTRACT
As the title suggests, this contribution refers to social change in the long term. As we will see later on, a brief glance at the two extremes of the time period we will analyze (the Early Neolithic and Late Iron Age) reveals that the final balance of this change involved an increase in complexity. One possible and quite typical approach would be to characterize the different forms of social relations in this period (how complex they were at each given moment) and identify how this increasing social complexity emerged. Another equally typical approach would be to focus on the concepts of change and continuity in order to characterize this long process.
