ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to critically examine the role of information and communication technologies (ICTs), particularly geographical information systems (GIS) in the school geography curriculum. The aims of this chapter are:
• to identify the rationales for using GIS and ICTs in school geography. • to explore the theory behind these rationales. • to show how geography teachers have used theory in their classroom
practice with GIS and ICTs.
