Understanding Governance in Resources Sector Companies: Is Disclosure Adequate?

Understanding the regulatory environment and the role of government in promoting good corporate governance practices in listed companies in China has paved the way for further development of corporate governance practices and mechanisms in leading Chinese resources companies. This chapter examines corporate governance practices (as disclosed in annual reports) of the ten leading resources companies in China and uses disclosures made by leading resources companies in Australia as a basis for comparison.
