ABSTRACT
All of the material in this vertical section of the book is concerned with the exploration of texts and discourses within the parameters of the models and frameworks developed across equivalent A and B units. However, rather than throw you in at the deep end, as it were, we propose to begin with a sample analysis of a text which applies some of the concepts developed in A1 and B1. We concentrate particularly on Fairclough’s three-dimensional model, outlined in B1. Throughout the sample analysis a number of additional areas for investigation are flagged up.
