ABSTRACT

Your mantra here is: you and your spouse, together or apart, will be parents for the rest of your lives. This fact must affect your relationship with the other parent. You want to be able to attend school functions together. Your children must feel able to invite both of you to family weddings, etc, without worrying about possible ‘scenes’. You may have stopped loving each other, but you and your ex must be courteous. After all, you may have colleagues at work whom you heartily dislike, but you manage to be civil on a day-to-day basis. Is it so hard to do the same with someone you once loved to distraction?
