ABSTRACT
By virtue of s 12(7)(b) of the Police Reform Act 2002, all the above directly-employed civilian officers will fall within the ambit of the Independent Police Complaints Commission in the event of allegations of misconduct. With the provision for possible modifications, the same applies to contracted out civilian detention and escort officers, as discussed below. However, different arrangements will apply to civilians under accreditation schemes, which will also be mentioned later (see Chapter 9, p 67).
