ABSTRACT

There are now five universities exclusively for legal education: National Law School of India, University at Bangalore; NALSAR University of Law (National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University) at Hyderabad; the National Law University at Jodhpur; National Law Institute University, Bhopal; and the National University of Juridical Science in Kolkata. The establishment of the Dr Ambedkar Law University in Tamil Nadu is another significant development as this brings all the affiliated law colleges in the State under the purview of this university. This is the first ever attempt at bringing all law colleges in a State under a single university.
