The cost of the arbitrator is normally in the region of £450 and can be ordered to be paid by the applicant. Questions of proportionality will have to be considered. If the difference in the amount offered and the amount sought by the applicant is minimal, telephone negotiations often lead to the successful conclusion of the application without the need and expense of the appeal.
