ABSTRACT
On 5 May 1981, Siamese twins joined at the trunk and sharing three legs were born in Danville, Illinois to physician Robert Mueller and his wife, Pamela. Robert was in the delivery room with family physician Petra Warren, who delivered the babies. When Jeff and Scott Mueller were born, the Muellers and Warren together decided not to treat the twins aggressively so that they could die. An anonymous caller alerted Protective Child Services, which obtained a court order giving it temporary custody of the children.
