ABSTRACT
The success rate of mediation is impressive. Figures indicate that, once the idea has been put forward, and provided that it is transmitted to the other party by a neutral third party, the uptake rate is in the order of 70%. Once the mediation has been accepted as a concept by the parties, the rate of resolution of disputes is in the order of 90%. This rate is reflected almost universally by those who practice widely in the field.
