ABSTRACT

Men live with the interior knowledge, conscious or not, that by ruling, they are dominating someone, i.e., women. Since they live with/have to look at those with less privilege every day, they must develop a way of not really “seeing” them. Men know on some level they are not superior, and they know that this gender division is unjust—so the question becomes, how to live with it? The answer is, learn not to really “see” it.
