ABSTRACT

Yet, the substantive content and product of this work have yielded a mixed picture of empirical findings. These data have not always been well understood at a theoretical or conceptual level, and there have been a number of problems associated with linking voting studies to related research on non-white political mobilization. In sum, an ever growing volume of quantitative evidence has not necessarily added to the understanding of the electoral process, nor has it contributed much to what is known about the political choices facing ethnic minorities.
