ABSTRACT
Mine is truly a story of being in the right place at the right time. I was born in India. After graduating from university and working in All India Radio, at the age of 24 I found my way to Germany and work with ZDF, a German television network. Two years later, a CBS editor invited me to be a part of that network’s newly emerging color television operation in the United States. It took me only a few days to buy a one-way ticket to New York. The very day I arrived, CBS went on strike.
