Answering Children’s Questions about HIV/AIDS in the Primary School: Are Teachers Prepared?

Since 1981 increasing government and media attention has been paid to the implications of HIV/AIDS, and much debate has focused on ways of minimizing the spread and impact of the virus through research and education. Although health education has been widely recognized as having a crucial role to play, little consideration has been given in Britain, either at the research or the policy level, to the implications of HIV/AIDS for primary school education.
