ABSTRACT
When a state genuinely celebrates, it celebrates because it has collectively something to affirm: as happened in ancient Egypt whose knowledge of a world order, in which the material and spiritual were united, could not be described or put easily into words, but could be affirmed by acts of cultural celebration.
