ABSTRACT

Parents challenged by the daunting task of raising a child in the new millennium seek effective skills for this important and difficult work. When we purchase a new appliance and the store delivers it, we receive an instruction booklet. When we take our firstborn infant home from the hospital, we quickly discover the instruction booklet was missing. Parents from all groups, regions, and social levels want the best for their children. Most agree that they need accurate information and effective skills if they are to achieve this important goal.
