ABSTRACT

Mr. Z. reported living in a house that became charged with electricity. The phone company was digging in the yard, and disconnected a wire, which turned out to be the house ground wire, and instead of standard electrical service, the patient’s house was energized in excess of 240 volts. All appliances were destroyed. The paper filter inside the air conditioner caught on fire. When he went to take the filter out, he reported that he received an electric shock when he touched the air filter hosing with his right hand. He also stated that he felt “vibrations to [his] feet” from the surge protector. He did not receive emergency/medical services the day of the event.
