ABSTRACT

Aside from the fact that it would be difficult to predict our actions from our overall evaluation, this scenario throws up other issues: for example, it seems likely that we would have to engage in more systematic processing to resolve the pros and cons and to reach a decision. Similarly, what would happen if someone suggested we try a campari and soda with ice? The more conflicted we were about our beer, the more easily we might be persuaded to buy a campari and soda. By the same token: What will happen in a similar situation in the future? Presumably, if our attitude towards beer continues to be caught between two poles, it is plausible that we would have to continue to work through the pros and cons, and so form a new attitude on each separate occasion.
