ABSTRACT
Eurostat has an operating budget of A141 million (2000) of which 50% supports the implementation of the Statistical Programme, 38% is staff costs, and the remainder is spent on administration. Additional income is generated through the sales of its products and databases. The Environment and Sustainable Statistics Unit has approximately 20 staff and an operating budget of A2 million, not including administrative overheads. GISCO has seven full time staff and has an annual operational budget of approximately A500,000. An extra A200,000 was received in 2003 for activities related to the preparation of the INSPIRE framework directive.
