ABSTRACT
Incompatibilities between data from different sources (for example, land use statistics and land cover geographic data) reduce information quality and increase costs. The INSPIRE FDS working group estimated that savings of at least A800 million per year could be saved by efficiency gains in European environmental impact assessments and strategic impact assessments, environmental reporting and protection, implementation of environmental acquis and expenditure on trans-European transport networks.
