ABSTRACT

An IOP in the low teens best preserves vision in glaucoma, even when the IOP is within the ‘normal’ range.1-3 The most important determinant of the final IOP after glaucoma surgery is the healing response of the eye. If the healing could be accurately modulated then most patients could achieve an IOP of 10 mm Hg after surgery. At present this level of IOP control is most consistently achieved by filtration surgery combined with antimetabolites, usually mitomycin-c (MMC).
