ABSTRACT

Much of the early research on déjà vu emerged from a conceptual framework in which the experience reflected some form of underlying physical pathology. Since the 1800s, investigators have speculated about the relationship between déjà vu and epilepsy in general, although other neurological conditions have been evaluated for links to déjà vu and the experience has been associated with the consumption of, and withdrawal from, various prescription and nonprescription drugs.
