ABSTRACT

A variety of different techniques have been used to gather information on the nature of the déjà vu experience. The primary methods involve retrospective and prospective questionnaires (present chapter), although researchers have used case studies for the detailed exploration of psychodynamic interpretations of déjà vu (Chapter 11). Group comparisons also have been used to determine if the incidence and nature of the déjà vu experience varies as a function of brain pathology (Chapter 7) and psychological maladjustment (Chapter 8).
