Egypt as a Model of Development for the World of Islam

Egypt occupies a pivotal position in the history of Islam’s exposure to European expansion. The encounter with Europe posed a great challenge to Muslims: it not only stopped Islamic expansion but also penetrated the territory of Dar al-Islam, the abode of Islam.
