ABSTRACT
This book has come about because it has long been the impression of the editors and many clinicians that there are considerable differences between different stages in the course of psychotic disturbances. Foremost amongst these differences is that it is often easier to understand, reason with, and be with patients with a first-episode psychosis than those with a longer-standing and well established pattern of psychosis.
