ABSTRACT

In Nevesinjsko Polje two areas of water storage are formed, one in the northern part and a second, smaller one in the south, in front of Biograd Ponor. This ponor is the terminus of the Zalomka River and has an intake capacity of 110 m3 s−l. The conglomerate deposits beneath the floor of the polje are 800 m thick. The water table in the dry season is more than 350 m below the surface of the polje. It fluctuates through a height range of 300-312 m.
